I’m a software developer working in the Twin Cities area, passionate about software development and about family history and genealogy. I’m also a father of two young kids, as well as a member of a very large family, of Irish and Dutch descent.
I’m also the founder/owner of famThings.com—a company that I’ve recently started to give me a vehicle for creating family history software products and/or services. I’ll talk more about famThings in future posts.
I’m still learning how best to balance competing priorities in my life and so I spread my time across: a full-time career as a software developer, being a good Dad, getting my first famThings projects off the ground, and working on my own personal family history projects.
We live on some acreage, south of Minneapolis and I love working on house/land projects. I especially enjoy any project that gives me an excuse to use our tractor.
The banner artwork at the top of the page is from an old family photo. We’re still trying to identify everyone, but believe that my great-grandmother, born in 1878, is third from the right, with her parents sitting in front of her.
